New Managing Director Announced
Chas Roy, Operations Director of David Ritchie (Implements) Ltd the Forfar fabricator, will be appointed Managing Director as of 1st June 2011. He will succeed Tony Walker, who will continue as a part time executive Director focusing on various projects including Industrial Sales, China, and Forfar Galvanisers Ltd.
Chas joined the company as Production Manager some 20 years ago from James Howden, the west coast power and tunnelling equipment manufacturer. He has been a Director of Ritchie for 14 years.
Retiring from the MD position Tony commented on the company’s success over the recent years and the strength and commitment of both the management team and workforce.
“The order book is presently at an all time high in the UK and export areas from both the agricultural, gas and offshore sectors. Already this year Ritchie exports are up more than 150% and include deliveries to USA, Iceland, Norway most of the EC countries, Kazakhstan, East Africa, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Brazil and New Zealand. This month a major new Australian customer has placed a 6 figure order for completion this year.”

Ritchie have their own on-site joint venture galvanising plant, Forfar Galvanisers, a joint venture in Weihai, eastern China, where they have been working for more than 15 years and are presently setting up a small manufacturing plant in the West Midlands. They also continue to offer an extensive range of specialist equipment and services to the farming industry across the UK and beyond.
