Changes in RITCHIE's Top Team

Forfar, Scotland 12 April 2005 - RITCHIE has moved to strengthen its Board and managerial team in the light of challenges in the global market place.

RITCHIE, the material handling and storage equipment company who supply Agriculture, Offshore, Industrial Gas, Defence and Security Markets strengthened its Board and took steps to add to it`s management team. The organisational changes aim to increase the rate of change required to meet the challenges in a global market place whilst ensuring the company maintains its focus on secure growth.

The changes have been from within, reflecting the strength of the existing management team. Tony Walker who has occupied a number of roles in the company including Materials Manager, Technical Director, Industrial Sales Director and Joint MD has been appointed Managing Director.

John MacAskill, previously Business Development Manager at RITCHIE, has been promoted to the Board and will hold responsibility for Industrial Sales and Marketing and have particular responsibility for Change, Communication and Strategy.

The main changes are:

  • Tony Walker - Managing Director.
  • John MacAskill - Director Designate with special responsibility for Change, Communication and Strategy as well as extending his existing Sales and Marketing duties. This ensures that change and communication is given the highest visibility at Board level.

  • Jim Marr, Materials Manager, has accepted a wider role in the change programme and will widen his remit with regard to supply chain management, an increasingly vital part of the existing business and future success.
  • A number of other changes in the operation of the company have been made including Robert Ritchie, Agriculture Sales Director taking responsibility for distribution.

The above restructuring reflects two ongoing strategic aims of the company:

  • Commitment to Change and improving Communication.
  • Human Investment, development and promotion from within if at all possible.
