25 Year Anniversary of Award Winning Traileyre

Forfar, Scotland, May 2006 “ RITCHIE celebrated the 25 year anniversary of the award winning Traileyre with a presentation of a scale model of the product to Geoff Eyre who originally developed the machine.

The Traileyre was developed by Geoff Eyre of Wm Eyre & Sons Ltd in Bradwell near Sheffield and initially trailed on the hill-sides of the Peak District in Derbyshire in the 1980`s. The current RITCHIE Traileyre is a range of bale carrying trailers, ruggedly built and capable of self-loading or emptying round bales. Two models are available, the 6 bale - 1496 - and 8 bale - 1498 - model. Both have an Arm Extension Kit allowing movement of either 12 or 16 round straw (4`x4`) or 6 or 8 high density square bales.

RITCHIE commercialised the machine and the machine won many prestigious awards including the silver medals at The Royal Show and the Dairy Event in 1986, The Albyn Davies Trophy in 1986 and The Royal Show Technology Award in 1987.

The machine is still a very important part of the RITCHIE range and it also demonstrates our relationship with farmers who have great ideas but need help to get these ideas to market. We have shown time and time again that RITCHIE can support farmers with innovative ideas".
